BTT - Healthy Skin is Always In
Many people do not take the time to learn about skin care or to make any attempt, in properly taking care of their skin. This leads to accelerated aging and skin that is not as healthy as it should be. The following tips will help you find ways to care for your skin, in order to avoid these problems.
Healthy Skin from Within
To keep your skin healthy, make sure you drink a lot of water. The more water you drink, the more hydrated your body will be, meaning your skin will be a lot more moisturized. Drinking water also helps your body purify itself and remove toxins. The more water you drink, the more toxins that are pushed out of your body instead of building up in you skin.
Healthy looking skin is a by-product of a healthy digestive system. A great way to improve digestion is to increase your intake of water and fiber. Skin problems such as acne, rosacea, and psoriasis are often the result of digestive disorders. So, up the ante when it comes to drinking water and eating foods rich in fiber, for huge benefits inside and out!
Protect Your Skin
To keep your skin looking young and healthy, it is important to carefully protect your skin against the sun's harmful UVB rays. Wearing sunscreen with the proper SPF (Sun Protection Factor) can greatly prolong the time it will take your skin to burn. Sunscreen isn't just for the beach and summertime; using sunscreen throughout the year on your face can help reduce the risk of sun damage.
Protect your skin from the sun. The best thing you can do for your skin is to use protection from the sun's rays. Sun exposure causes a myriad of problems, ranging from age spots and wrinkles, to the chance of developing skin cancer. Always use sunscreen, and remember to re-apply every two hours if you are active. When possible, wear protective clothing such as a wide-brimmed hat, long sleeves and long pants.
Care for Your Skin
The first step to caring for your skin is being gentle. Avoid extremely hot water when bathing because this temperature can eliminate your skin's natural oils; therefore, you should bathe with mild water, and try to keep them as short as possible. Make sure that you are rubbing gently when you are drying yourself. Pat yourself gently so that you retain some of the moisture that your skin has.
If you want your skin care to work for you, it is a good idea to find what skin type you have as different products help with different skin types. The characteristics of dry, normal, combination, oily or even sensitive skin vary, so be sure to tailor your skin care to the skin type.
It is important to wash oneself to ensure that the skin is cared for properly. By washing regularly one will clean off anything that they got on their skin as well as dead skin cells. The regular cleaning will result in much healthier and overall better looking skin.
Exfoliate regularly to remove dead skin cells from your face. You can purchase exfoliating soap from the store, or you can add a little bit of granulated sugar to your regular face wash. Reduce skin irritation and damage by limiting this procedure to one or two times weekly.
Be sure to moisturize every day to take care of your skin. The best time to do this is right after a shower or a bath to seal in the moisture that you already absorbed in the shower. You can try a variety of different lotions and moisturizers to see what works best for you.
To achieve healthy skin, consider using a Blemish Base (BB) cream. Popular in Asia, BB cream contains all of the essential ingredients that you would need from a face cream. Not only does it serve as a foundation by evening out your skin tone, it also has sunscreen and ingredients that improve the health of your skin. It also contains anti-aging ingredients to keep your skin young and fresh.

You might want to check your pantry or refrigerator for all natural ingredients that can benefit all types of skin – from dry, to sensitive, to oily. There are plenty of affordable kitchen ingredients that can do amazing things for your skin.
A wonderful and inexpensive facial mask for your skin can be made with warmed honey and a small amount of lemon juice. Stir in enough juice so that the honey is still thick enough to spread. Spread on your face (avoiding the eye area). Wash off gently after it dries. Honey has fantastic skin-softening qualities and the lemon will brighten your skin.
Apple cider vinegar is great for acne. This will give your face moisture, which can help abolish acne. Make sure to use this treatment during the day, as the pungent aroma of the vinegar is not something you want on your sheets.
Cooled cucumber slices can aid in de-puffing the eye area as well as provide some cooling relief for general irritation. The juice of a cucumber can not only reduce swelling in the eye area, it can also soothe damaged skin and make your eyes look and feel refreshed. This is due to cucumber’s vitamin C and folic acid content.
People have noticed a lot of positive results after applying yogurt to their skin like added moisture, evened skin tone, reduced fine lines and acne and decreased inflammation. For a simple face mask, mix together plain yogurt and a couple teaspoons of honey until well combined, apply mixture to a slightly-damp face and let sit for about 20 minutes then wash off and continue with your skincare routine.
