Bra fat is defined as deposits of fat that hang over the bra. It can be in the front, sides, or back. These areas can be extremely hard to target with diet and exercise. Lifestyle and genetics play a major role in fat accumulation in these areas.

Diet and exercise seem to work well for some women. In fact, losing weight can reduce these areas; exercise can tone the underlying muscles, causing them to appear smaller.

The following bra fat banishing exercises can be done at home or in the gym, as long as you have hand held weights.

Lateral Raise Combo

Pick up dumbbells – one in each hand. Position feet shoulder length apart. Raise the dumbbells up to eye level and then lower it down in front of you without hyperextending your arms. Bring each dumbbell up on each side until each one is shoulder height. Lower the dumbbells back down in front of you to relax for a second and then bring it back up in front of you at eye level. Complete three sets of ten.

Bent Over Rows

Place a dumbbell in each hand with feet shoulder length apart. Bend at the waist keeping the back strong and flat. It should be parallel to the floor. Bring the weights up by your sides, and then lower back down. Bring the weights back up by your sides, and slowly bring them down in front of you again. Be sure to keep your elbows tucked in as you bring the weights up and down. Complete three sets of ten.

Chicken Wings

Place one dumbbell in each hand and position your feet a little more than shoulder width apart. Bend at the waist while keeping your back straight. With the dumbbells in front of you down by your knees, bring the weight up on each side until they are almost shoulder level. Bring your arms back done to complete the rep. Do three sets of ten.

Keep an Eye on Kybella®

While the above exercises and a healthy diet can help you banish bra fat, something new may help in the near future – Kybella®. Recently, Allergan started clinical trials to determine if Kybella can melt fat at the bra-line, knees, and ankles, just as it does for double chins.

If these trials prove to be successful, the FDA may approve Kybella for the treatment of bra fat and fat around the knees and ankles, which can be extremely hard to get rid of through diet and exercise.

Keep an eye out as Allergan tests this new indication. It may be what you need to say goodbye to bra fat. For more information about Kybella for double chin reduction in Long Island or Manhattan, contact me for a free consultation.
