Love it or hate it. The day of celebrating love has arrived.

You’ve probably seen the signs of it coming since the minute Christmas was over. Stores start pushing out all the Valentine’s day stuff on to the shelves. Chocolates, stuffed animals and basically all things red and covered in hearts have been spreading like a virus (a good virus) up until this day.

If you’re in a relationship right now we hope that you’ve not even reading this and are instead spending your time with that significant other. Or even better – spending your time with that significant other at James Christian Cosmetics, taking advantage of our $10/unit BOTOX deal. In case you missed it, during Feb we are offering you the chance to get $10/unit BOTOX if you bring your significant other in with you for treatment. It’s a great way to cap off spending the day together – have dinner at a nice restaurant, get a relaxing couples message, treat yourselves to a couples BOTOX treatment and wrap things up at home in front of the fireplace.

Of course, if you’re not currently in a relationship that’s no reason to feel down either. Celebrating love doesn’t have to be reserved just for couples. There’s more than one type of love out there worthy of celebration. Love for yourself, love for your family, love for your friends even love for your pets! Here’s a couple ideas of ways to celebrate this day:

Spend Some Time With Your Friends Or Family

Valentine’s day can be the perfect opportunity to get in some visits with family members or friends that you haven’t see in a while.

In fact, a growing trend is doing Anti-Valentine’s day parties with friends. Get all your single friends together and have an Anti-Valentine’s day party where you watch movies, have a couple drinks and share some laughs. You can even make it a mobile party where you go out and do things together such as trying to take advantage of all the couples deals shops offer. There’s lot of deals out there and it can often be pretty funny to go in pretending you and your friend are a couple.

Don’t have any single friends? No problem.

A completely different angle to consider is making this day more special for your friends that are couples that have kids. Consider making the offer to watch their kids for the night so they can have a chance to go out and enjoy a kid-free night. Chances are if they have kids it’s been a long while since they’ve had this luxury. We often take for granted the freedoms we have being single. Offering to do this can give you a good feeling, keep you busy and even lead to your friends trying to return the favor somehow down the line.

Spend Some Time With Your Pet

Don’t think you have a significant other? Think again if you’ve got a pet such as a dog. Valentine’s day can be a great day to reconnect with your pet. Often times we lose touch with our animals sort of taking them for granted and not really living up to our end of the bargain. Maybe you don’t play with them as much, maybe you don’t take them for as many walks as you used to since you’ve been too busy. Now is a good time to be able to turn that around.

It doesn’t have to be a big full-day thing, it can be as simple as making sure you take an hour or two to do something for your pet. Take them for a long walk, get them a new toy and play with them. Just something to show that you care. Of course, you could also take this to a more extreme route and really spoil your pet with their own version of a nice dinner. Perhaps get yourself an extra large steak to cook up and then cut them off a few pieces to put in their dish. Take the time to spoil them this Valentine’s day, after-all they love you unconditionally year-round.

Treat Yourself To A Day Of Pampering

Sometimes you’ve just got to show yourself how much you care by treating yourself to the best day ever.

  • Go Shopping – Treat yourself to buying that certain something that you’ve been wanting for a long time. After all, why not? You deserve it!
  • Get Some Comfort Food – It’s still cold outside and as such there’s nothing better than sitting on the couch, bundled up and eating some of your favorite comfort food. Definitely order in and smile knowing you don’t have to deal with the stress of how crazy busy all the restaurants are going to be.
  • Go To The Spa – Why not treat yourself to a little “me-time” by indulging in a massage, mani-pedi or even lip plumping?
  • Window Shop For Deals – Like chocolate? Do a little looking around for less busy shops that still have a good surplus of quality goodies later on Valentine’s day. Chances are that first thing tomorrow (or possibly even later tonight) they will be marking all that stuff down substantially. It’s not uncommon to see Valentine’s day branded chocolates and candy going for 75%+ off! Perfect time to stock up on some sweet snacks for a sweet deal.

No matter what your plans are this Valentine’s day – whether you’re going to celebrate with a significant other, hang out with friends or even if you’re going to do nothing as you don’t even give this silly holiday any weight at all, we hope that it’s a good day for you that exceeds your expectations.
