10 Juicing Secrets They Don’t Want You To Know!
Ok we know this isn’t really an article about “Beauty Tips” so much. But we found it was worth talking about because fruit and vegetables juices have actually been shown to help improve your skin and overall help as an alternative to sugary sodas or other beverages. Making juice for yourself an your family is a great way to keep yourself and your loved ones healthy. For the tastiest and healthiest treats for your family, follow the tips in this article. You and your family are sure to love all the benefits juicing can bring to your life.
#1. Remove Processed Foods – When attempting a juice-only diet, it can be helpful to remove all processed foods from your house first. Having a box of crackers, a jar of peanut butter, or some candy bars staring you in the face while you can only have juice is an easy way to cut your diet tragically short.
#2. Don’t Just Use Fruit – Juicing is the best-tasting way to make sure you’re getting all the daily servings of fruit and vegetables that you need. You can mix them together in a combination that will provide any nutrient you need, and it will taste good no matter what you include. The whole family can sip and enjoy! In fact adding veggies to your juice/smoothie is a nice covert way to sneak more vegetable servings into your diet.
#3. Turn Juice Into A Smoothie With Ice – Try adding chopped ice to your juice to make it a cool treat in the summer! It’s like drinking a smoothie while actually knowing what ingredients are in it and where they came from (and how clean they were when they went into the juicer!) What a tasty way to chill out that’s essentially a great DIY smoothie.
#4. Don’t Skimp On Your Juicer – Shop around for a juicer that works for you. You want to look for a juicer that is easy for you to use, assemble, take apart and clean. The juicer should also be well constructed. You do not have to buy the most expensive juicer on the market for your needs yet you do need to understand how to use the juicer.
#5. Change It Up To Not Get Bored – When it comes to juicing, one thing that you want to keep in mind is that it is a good idea to stock up on a variety of different fruits and vegetables. This is good to do because it will help to ensure that you do not become tired of a certain taste. It will also make it possible to vary the types of juice you make.
#6. Go Organic If You Can – It’s always better to use organic fruit when making juices, but since they are pricey, you can’t always get organic fruit. When using non-organic produce, there might be harmful pesticides that you don’t want to put into your drinks. So, make sure you peel the fruits so you don’t ingest the pesticides.
#7. Consider Adding Wheat-grass – When it comes to juicing, one thing that you want to keep in mind is the fact that wheat grass is not only an extremely powerful tasting ingredient but it also provides many nutrients. This is important because you want to introduce this into your juices, but you need to be careful to not use too much due to its overpowering taste.
#8. Thicker Juices/Smoothies Can Fill You Up – If you like a really thick juice, try using softer fruits to make nectar! Apricots, peaches, pears, and strawberries are all excellent choices. You can add banana to make it an even smoother treat, but put it in the blender first or mash it and then add it to your juicer so that your motor doesn’t end up wearing out. Having a thicker juice is a great way to help you feel full afterwards. Thin juices tend to just go right through you but thicker ones can leave you feeling more like you just had a meal.
#9 Reuse The Pulp You Don’t Want – If you don’t like having pulp in your juice, cover the container it’s dripping into with cheesecloth. DON’T throw the pulp away, though, as it contains a lot of fiber and nutrients that you need. Mix it with non-fat, unsweetened yogurt for an excellent breakfast item or after-meal dessert treat!
#10 Add Protein To Make It A Meal – One of the easiest way to make your juice/smoothie into more of a meal that keeps you feeling full is to simply add some protein. Depending on your taste it can done by doing things like adding yogurt, peanut butter or even just direct protein powder. If you’re a little more adventurous try adding chick peas to your smoothie – they are loaded with protein and can really thicken up your drink!
