A new trend is popular in the UK right now, and is slowly making its way into the United States.

According to Metro UK, men are seeking injections to increase the size of their testicles. They are also looking to increase penis circumference. The BBC reported this use of injections has increased by 20 percent in the last 12 months.

Reasons Men Seek Fillers

Reasons vary for each person, but it usually has to do with increasing confidence while being intimate. Stuart Price admits that he was self-conscious about his girth and he was drawn to the treatment because it’s a non-surgical option to increase size.

After he had the injections, he was happy to report he went from a circumference of 12.5 cm to 15 cm. This may not sound like much, but to people like Stuart, it’s a big deal when it comes to boosting his self-esteem.

Alternatively, the only way to increase male genitalia is to perform a fat transfer procedure. This involves removing fat from other areas of the body and injecting it into the penis or scrotum. The only problem is that many men do not want to undergo such drastic measures for a bigger size.

Fillers carry less risk for complications versus fat transfer because liposuction is eliminated from the picture. However, fillers are temporary, lasting about 18 months (for those who receive hyaluronic acid fillers). Learn more about hyaluronic acid here.

What the FDA Says about Using Fillers for Male Genitalia

The FDA has only approved the use of fillers for treatment of fine lines and wrinkles on the face. The FDA has this to say about using it in other areas of the body:

The FDA has NOT approved dermal fillers to:

  • Increase breast size (breast augmentation)
  • Increase size of the buttocks
  • Increase fullness of the feet
  • Implant into bone, tendon, ligament, or muscle

While it does not identify the penis and testicles as unapproved uses for dermal fillers, these applications fall under the unapproved category of large-scale body contouring or enhancement.

Dermal Fillers in Manhattan and Long Island

Your safest bet is to stick with dermal fillers for your face. After all, that’s what people see first and fall in love with first. Try to remember that when someone chooses to be intimate with you, it’s usually because they love who you are, not what you look like naked.
