Healthy skin looks beautiful. It is important that you take care of your skin throughout your life. There are many options available, from cleansing routines to surgical or cosmetic intervention. Keep reading to learn more about what it takes to enjoy beautiful, healthy skin.

You can improve your skin quality by using a homemade mask. Raw almonds ground with olive oil and milk makes a semi-smooth paste to use as a skin mask. After this, add ground orange peel into this paste. Apply to the face for approximately 15 minutes. Gently cleanse your face with a washcloth and sooth the skin with an ice cube for a couple of minutes.
Use hypoallergenic and unscented lotions and creams because scented moisturizers tend to have artificial ingredients that can be bad for your skin. One ingredient to avoid is alcohol. Pay careful attention to the ingredients listed on the label of your various creams before every applying. Do not purchase a product that contains alcohol or a fragrance.
One way to keep your skin beautiful is to avoid alcohol. A drink or two each day is okay, but alcohol tends to bring out your pores. This leads to the clogging of your pores and will result in the skin breaking out due to the excess amounts of oil.

Your lips also need to be protected too. The colder air of winter is very drying. If you don’t take care of your lips with balm or moisturizers, you can end up with painful dry and cracked lips.
If you use a liquid foundation and it does not contain sunscreen, mix your own in. In this day and age, most foundations do in fact contain sunscreen. If your foundation does not contain sunscreen or uses too low of a SPF just add your own to improve the level of protection for your skin. Add two drops of sunscreen and mix vigorously.
Hangnails can be frustrating, but are easy to get rid of by simply keeping your hands and nail beds moisturized. Some great products for the hand and nail area would be any lotion which contains shea butter. You may want to, but doing this can cause nasty infections and unattractive fingertips.
If your eyes are puffy, use coolness to alleviate the puffiness. Put your eye cream on whenever it is at its coldest in order to decrease puffiness; therefore, you should consider storing eye cream in your fridge. The skin underneath your eyes can be helped through the use of cucumbers. Apply two cold slices over your eyes until they reach room temperature.
For healthy, younger looking skin, quit smoking. Smoking is not good for the face because it reduces the size of blood vessels and decreases blood flow. You will be more likely to get wrinkles from smoking because of the facial expressions made repeatedly.
To help protect yourself, try to keep a lip balm on your lips at all times when you are outside in the sun. You’ll be able to keep the harmful sun’s rays away from the delicate skin of your lips and protect them from damage.
