eyebrowPowder Brows Miami Beach

Maintaining the eyebrows is the most daunting daily challenge for every woman. A minimum of 10 minutes are required daily to fill the brows with some pencil, pomade, or any brow enhancing tool. You must have heard about some semi-permanent cosmetic procedures to get fuller and natural-looking brows. Microblading is a procedure everyone knows about, but have you heard of the powder brows? It is a fantastic new technique that serves as a great alternative to microblading. Let’s discuss what the powder brows are, the procedure, the benefits, aftercare, or the side effects, if any.

What are Powder Brows?

Powder brows are a semi-permanent makeup technique that provides a soft powdery look to your eyebrows. The procedure is also known as the “Ombre Brows” or “Ombre Powder Brows.” A digital machine is used that looks more like a tattoo gun. The brow artist manually inserts pigment into the top layer of the skin. It creates a shading effect. The careful layering of pigment is crucial to making the brows look natural. This technique is known as the ombre brows due to the misty effect. The color fades as you move from the front to the tail of the brows. In short, it creates a three-dimensional look that appears naturally beautiful.

The Procedure of Powder Brows

The procedure of powder brows requires precision, and only trained artists can perform it. The process starts by mapping out the brows with thread and measuring calipers. It helps in achieving the perfect symmetry for your brows. Next the numbing cream is applied to the brow area. The pigment is then inserted with a very fine needle. The practitioner uses a quick motion to create a pixelated powder makeup look. He may develop several layers of pigment to achieve the desired density. The procedure is simple and usually takes 2-3 hours to complete. You can go for a retouch after 6-8 weeks of the first session.

How are Powder Brows Different from Microblading?

*Model used in image above. Your personal results will vary.

The main difference between Microblading and Powder Brows is how the pigment is deposited in the skin. Microblading involves a handheld tool to carve minor cuts into the skin while powder brows are performed through a machine, and the procedure is far less invasive than Microblading.

With the passage of time, the Microblading becomes blue, grey, purple, or green. Though its initial result looks realistic but strokes fade, spread, or even look blotchy with time. In contrast, powder brows deliver consistent color and shape. In addition, it provides a softer makeup look that does not wash off.

The machine that is used for powder brows has a nanoneedle. It disperses the pigment with an airbrush-like look. Whereas Microblading uses the sharp needles that act as blades to create narrow lacerations on the skin. The repeated touch-ups of Microblading can result in scarring. In addition, it is not suitable for oily skin because it makes a blurry inconsistent color that fades quickly on oily skin. In comparison, powder brows are ideal for all skin types.

It is advised to refrain from alcohol, aspirin, caffeine, or any blood thinning supplements for at least 24 hours before the appointment. All of these mentioned agents increase bleeding and cause poor retention.

In addition, do not pluck or wax your brows for a minimum of 2 weeks before the appointment. It will help achieve natural results.

After the procedure, you have slight redness, soreness, and swelling at the treatment site. It subsides in a few hours. Initially, your brows look darker, but they become softer and more natural as they heal.

You may experience some itching and dryness during the first week of healing. You can use a soothing balm to relieve itching and accelerate healing. Do not touch or pick at your brows after the treatment because it can lead you to have an infection. Instead, allow the dry skin to fall off itself. Just be patient with the healing process.

It may take 14 days for the superficial healing, and we advise avoiding water, saunas, steam, heavy exercise, skincare, or makeup products to use on the brow area.

Anyone who is tired of drawing the eyebrows daily with some cosmetic product can go for powder brows. People with mature skin and an active lifestyle are considered the ideal for the procedure.
