Winter can be rough for the skin and it’s always the face that is more vulnerable since it is unprotected, unlike our body. Aside from having a pristine and healthy air to breathe in, a beautiful icy scenery, a snuggle-up-together or a sweater weather kind of temperature. Do you know that winter is also the perfect time to obtain BOTOX injections? Let me tell you why:

Stay firm and moisturized

During this cold, dry season, not only does your facial skin risk getting dried out and weathered, your facial muscles are very involved as well. Fine lines and wrinkles become more evident because our skin continues to lose moisture and firmness. Due to the warm, low sun there is almost no difference when it comes to your squinting. Believe it or not, you squint almost as much in winter as you do during summer. But, gladly, Botox is here to save the day! It temporarily stops the muscles from contracting and stopping wrinkles progression. Therefore, you don’t have to worry if you squint too much.

Stand out during the holidays

Holiday occasions and family gatherings during the winter season are one of the events that most people look forward to. Family and friends may go visit you and may even celebrate the holidays with you. Of course, everyone wants to look their very best and stand out during this kind of events. By using Botox, it can help you stand out by making you appear fresh and vibrant for those holiday photos. Winter also makes the therapy more effective.

Longer life span for your Botox

Did you know that fillers are still susceptible to being disrupted even though it’s already injected to the body? Botox can last for 3-6 months, and thanks to the cold temperature brought by the winter season, having Botox treatment during winter can make your Botox treatment last up to 6 months. According to some studies, being in hot environments or getting engage in high-intensity exercises can cause dehydration which may affect the results of your Botox treatment. Also, having a high body temperature may metabolize the dermal filler product or Botulinum Toxin rapidly compared when the body temperature is low.

Winter is the time to relax and have some self-care

Although people may still be busy with their work and their personal life during winter, it’s not usually as jam-packed like any other seasons. Unlike summer and spring where there are lots of activities, such as camping, and/or swimming at the beach, winter is the perfect season to stay inside and relax. Cold months are usually the slower months of the year for most people which means you got more time to allow any bruising to resolve.

Sun exposure? No problem!

Overexposing yourself to the sun rays may ruin your Botox injections. When too much sunlight is acquired shortly after your injections, the natural dilation of blood vessels from the treatment may increase blood circulation which may disperse the solution rapidly. During winter, the warmth of the sun is gentler compared to other seasons. Too much sun exposure won’t be a problem during the winter.

Prevent sweating during winter

If sweating a lot is being experienced during winter, it’s possible you may have a condition called Hyperhidrosis. Hyperhidrosis is the term for excessive sweating that is not related to heat or exercise. Botox prevents the release of chemicals located in the sweat glands which prevents the said organ to produce sweat. Therefore, Botox is known to be the safest cure if other drugs and topical treatments are not effective.

Book at the most suitable time

Since it’s cold during the winter, people tend to cover their bodies and faces with hats, jackets, gloves, etc. With this being said, people don’t take much of a look at themselves and identify the exquisite treatment that they need. Hence, only few of my clients sets an appointment with me. There is only a minimal amount of clients during this season which makes it easier for you to get that fabulous treatment you need, exactly when you need it.

Reduce the risk of swelling and bruising

It is very advisable that persons should avoid being exposed to high temperatures for 48 hours after their Botox injection. This means that using steam rooms, saunas, or sun beds should be avoided, as well as engaging in intense exercises. Raising the body’s temperature will increase the risk of swelling and bruising. Since winter is a cold, dry season, the body’s temperature is naturally low, resulting to a lesser risk of swelling and bruising.

Winter is the most relaxing season for most people which makes it feel like it is the perfect time to get yourself cared for. That’s why you should treat yourself now, before life gets hectic again, so you can feel and look better.
