When we offer treatment packages good for a certain number BOTOX® and fillers, we often get calls to our 24/7 Cosmetic Concierge line asking how much the package will cover. For instance, they want to know if 60 units is sufficient to reduce fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth, eyes, and forehead.
While there isn’t one answer to this question because everyone differs on exactly how much they need to achieve their desired look, there are some basic guidelines that aesthetic injectors follow.
How Far Can 20 Units of BOTOX® Go?
Please understand these are just guidelines, and the number of units needed varies widely between individuals. Only an experienced injector, such as James Christian Sardelli, RPA-C can determine how much you may need to achieve your desired look.
The FDA has approved 20 units of BOTOX for frown lines. This means people can get up to those number of units. More isn’t necessarily better in this case; neither should anyone believe they need to get 20 units for it to be effective. If a person only needs 10 units to smooth away lines and wrinkles, then 10 units is all he/she should receive.
If someone only needs 10 units of BOTOX for their frown lines, the rest of the purchased units can be used on other areas of the face such as crow’s feet or wrinkles between the eyebrows (also called “elevens”).
In one of our signature packages, Christian’s Cocktail, we use 60 units of BOTOX and one syringe of filler. The 60 units is ideal for tackling the most common areas where fine lines and winkles develop. The 60 units are divided between the forehead, between the eyes, and/or the sides of the eyes (crow’s feet).
What One Syringe of Filler Can Do
One syringe of filler is a common amount for people to request. This one syringe of filler can be effective in adding volume to the face to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, or to boost certain areas such as the tear troughs and lips.
It is difficult to say how much filler people may need to achieve their desired look. For instance, if there are deep nasolabial folds, it may take more filler than someone who has more surface level wrinkles in that area.
The best thing to do if you’re interested in purchasing filler is to consult with James Christian Sardelli, RPA-C. You can let him know what results you’re hoping for, and then he can tell you exactly how much filler it would take. This way, you don’t have to guess on how much you have to buy to get a more youthful looking appearance.
